On Saturday, October 15, 2011 I trekked out to Keller, TX to attend a gathering hosted by Laurie (of TipJunkie) with the help of Best Buy.

There were several “all-in-one” computers (with touch screens!) set up to be played with and I had a million visions of what I could do with one of those!  For an Admin, one of these “all-in-one” computers would help put office organization right at our fingertips (literally).  If you cook, put the unit in a place that has easy access from your kitchen and you could look up recipes while cooking or watch an episode of “Good Eats” for inspiration.  If you have kids and they have reports to do or need to look up information (or if they do online schooling or have homework that is online) this would be an excellent unit to have in your home as it is large enough for both parent and student to have a good view of the screen plus it has a remote control with a full QWERTY keyboard!

Laurie even had games for the kids to play and since it was a lovely day, many of the games were set up outside which allowed the kids running around space in addition to the organized games which allowed the parents a few minutes to get up close and personal with the computers.

There was also a dazzling array of munchies… veggies, popcorn chicken (with some dipping sauces) , fresh fruit and some absolutely IMMENSE cupcakes (which I was thankful were NOT chocolate because I was able to resist having one…or two…)

I loved the tech stuff but it was really a great event for me because I actually talked to people AND ran into one of the folks I’d met at the 3 Musketeers event (and someone who had been at that event who I hadn’t gotten to talk to but she remembered seeing me there and I am hoping we get to chat MUCH more!!) so from a social perspective, I really feel this event was a HUGE win for me.

I’m looking forward to the next event and to getting the resources to pick up one of the all-in-one computer units!

Many thanks to TipJunkie for the invitation!
